It's about 8 years old now, and you can get one for nearly 200k. NPOCP?

Always liked it despite what others might say about the looks. It's still lighter than an SLS and with more power. 10/10 would hoon.

You can get a brand new SL65 for around the same price. You can get a new SLS for around the same price. I know they aren't as exclusive, but they should be just as fun and the SLS has fun doors.
I wouldn't turn one down though...

Or you can get a baby SLR (SLK55) for around $30k.

Hmmm. For a multi-millionaire? NP, For me? CP. I could afford to buy one.... ...with a 10 year loan, but I'd likely have to live in it.

CP at any price. Replacement parts are more expensive than the car.

Leno likes his. But there are many other cars I'd choose first with that kind of scratch...

Love it. That noise. The price. I still don't know how they justified the price.

It's my second favorite car of all times right next to the Ferrari Enzo. 200K is nice price weren't these over 450K new?

Np only if it is one of the black ones. I loved the way they looked when they came out and I love the way they sound. If I was money is no object rich, this would be DD status. But really if I was that rich I'd have a garage full of frankensteins. . . I don't think I could ever get into owning an exotic, I'd rather spend the money on building a car that will beat exotics. . .

I still think the SLR has a better looking profile.

Mmm, two things:
SLR = 3,898 lb, SLS =3,570 lb - SLS lighter
The SLS makes nearly as much power as the SLR, without a supercharger and the associated heat soak (which was HORRENDOUS in that generation of AMG engines), and more if you count the SLS Black.
Also, one look at a parts list for a SLR would make any sane man walk away/sell it while they still can. We're talking nearly 6-digits just for body panels.
Of course, I'm a little bias on the subject.

Probably my favorite all-time Mercedes model. But I'd have mine in black.

I'll accept your correction in regards to the weight, even with the bias lol.
It's a similar situation to how the current 911 Turbo can outperform the Carrera GT.

I also think the SLS looks better. With that said, SLR is rarer and has more prestige. Besides, McLaren!
